Swiss National Museum: Sharing images and experiences
In the wake of a preparatory project that was ongoing for several years, the comprehensive collections “Historical Photography and Graphic Arts” can now be physically and digitally examined by the public in the study centre of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich. The online collection provides global access to a selection of the 360,000 newly restored objects, which can be browsed and researched. After just a few months, both collections have already attracted great interest.
Pioneering in its scope, the project provides fertile ground for additional projects to index, exhibit and research collected objects. The National Museum’s team is sharing its experiences and is now offering consulting to other museums and archives dealing with collections that are similar in size.
